Provenance Formed part of a huge collection by antique box dealer from the 1970s.
Description Antique Octagonal tea caddy with conch shell inlay to the top, with chequered edging with satinwood cross banding and oval shaped bone escutcheon. Surrounding the front edge is a herring bone inlay coloured boxwood inlays with the base having a tulipwood cross banding..

The georgian tea caddy interior features two turned bone handled lidded compartments with most of their original foil lining.

This tea caddy comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key. The key must be turned clockwise to unlock.
