Description Antique Writing slope veneered in beautiful figured exotic coromandel with exquisite ornate, delicate engraved Mother of Pearl, Abalone and Brass inlays depicting two exotic birds perched on a fountain, surrounded by flowers framed with mother of pearl & brass border with shell motifs in each corner.

The interior of this fabulous writing slope features its original luxurious red tooled velvet writing surface, of which the top half can be lifted to reveal a storage compartment. Above this is a pen tray and three compartments with mother of pearl handled lids and two silver plated travelling inkwells. Lifting the smaller writing surface reveals a void and where a secret compartment is hidden containing three small drawers.

To access the secret compartment: Remove the right hand lid, squeezing with your thumb on the inside corner will release the sprung loaded cover of which three tiny drawers are revealed.

This writing box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
