Description A delightful earthenware wine flask with handle, overall covered with a treacle glaze. It was probably taken to the fields at harvest time. Readable bits of a note underneath say "Turned up by plough at....very ancient...." It is now a rare survivor as few exist in this good condition.
Condition The flask is in perfect condition having no chips or cracks, however the glaze has surface rubbing on the widest part of the flask as if being carried on a belt on a regular basis.
